Ripperton
(Perspectiv)

The Swiss based musician Raphaël Ripperton has worked on his unique production style for about 15 years now. In this time he has played in various bands, established his own label Perspectiv Records and produced and remixed endless 12″. Ripperton has released on labels such as Dessous, Systematic, Rekids, Liebe Detail, Connaisseur, Sthlm Audio, Plak and many more, and has remixed the likes of Laurent Garnier, Chardronnet, Beanfield, Steve Lawler and the exceptional band Radiohead.
He gained outstanding popularity with his project Lazy Fat People that was signed on Border Community, Wagon Repair and on Carl Craig’s Planet E. In recent years Ripperton’s tracks have been included on compilations by luminaries such as Steve Bug, Loco Dice, James Holden and Joris Voorn. And on his own label, Perspectiv, he is constantly on the search for impeccable new talent to uncover such as Australia’s own Christian Vance, who debuted on the label last year with the hugely successful Tiger Snake EP.
As a DJ Ripperton spins the melodic and lush end of house, minimal and techno. With his debut album Niwa set to drop on Joris Voorn’s Green imprint late 2009, his highly anticipated return to Australia is finally upon us. Catch him spin New Years Day night on the BLOW YOUR OWN WAY boat party alongside fellow Deepcast artists Christian Vance, Myles Mac and Andy Hart.
